Diode laser with a wavelength around 445 nm.
These parts are not toys and can cause nasty injuries!
Put on protective goggles whenever such a part is in operation!
Here are currently various laser modules which will be tested in the next few days.
SainSmart - approx. 5 Watt optical power with fixed focus
SainSmart - approx. 5 Watt optical power with adjustable focus (no longer available)
SculpFun S6 - approx. 5 watt optical power with fixed focus
SculpFun S9 - approx. 5 watt optical power with fixed focus (FAC and C-Lens technology)
SculpFun S10 - approx. 10 watt optical power with fixed focus (FAC and C-Lens technology)
LaserTack LE 455 - approx. 5 watt optical power with various lenses (Spot Creator)
Neje - approx. 3.5 watt optical power with adjustable focus
Neje A40640 - approx. 12 watts optical power with fixed focus
Neje N40630 - approx. 5,5 watt optical power with adjustable focus
Ortur LU2-4-4SF - approx. 5 watt optical power with fixed focus
NoName - approx. 5 watt optical power with adjustable focus
We measure performance : )
Over and over the same question, whether such a laser module indicated with 20, 30, 40 to 80 watts really has this power?
Well, between input power and the optical output power there are already small differences.
For this reason, Christian has procured a measuring device and I may test it this time.....Thank you.
The meter is a Pronto 250 for various wavelengths up to a power of 100 watts.
Handheld, small, simple and compact....
Well, depending on the installed diode and driver, you can measure funny things.
The question of whether I now remove the laser to see what kind of diode was installed....
We measure thus, compare the prices and ask the question whether, with rated power data of 5.5 Watts,
there really is such a diode inside or if the driver was completely exaggerated....leading to premature Diode death : )
Test series:
Measured from the optimal spot (smallest point to be determined) about one millimeter into the beam, to protect the sensor surface.
The power is measured for 5 seconds using a powermeter (specified time).
Measured with 100 % (settings under LightBurn)
The Laser is measured connected to the LEKN C1 Controller and MKS DLC XY 1.0 (Puls)
Three tests are measured every 10 minutes...
SainSmart Diode laser, rated 5,5 watts optical Power, fixed Focus (20 mm) and currently a runtime of about 3 hours.
Pronto 250: 1. Measurement: 3,44 - 2. Measurement: 3,48 - 3. Measurement: 3,47
LaserTack LE445, rated 5 watts optical power, adjustable focus and currently a runtime of about 120 hours
Pronto 250: 1. Measurement: 4,33 - 2. Measurement: 4,39 - 3. Measurement: 4,38
Sculpfun S6, rated 5 watts optical power, fixed focus and and currently a runtime of about 3 hours
Pronto 250: 1. Measurement: 3,67 - 2. Measurement: 3,68 - 3. Measurement: 3,62
Sculpfun S10, rated 10 watts optical power, fixed focus and and currently a runtime of about 30 Seconds
Pronto 250: 1. Measurement: 10,9 - 2. Measurement: XX - 3. Measurement: XX
Neje A40640, rated 10 watts optical power, fixed focus and and currently a runtime of about 3 minutes
Pronto 250: 1. Measurement: 9,33 - 2. Measurement: 9,42 - 3. Measurement: 9,41
Then after an hour the following:
It will not be more than about 7 watts of optical power!
The article will be expanded in the next few days.
For your information, this is only my personal impression and I can't tell if the measurements I made are real and accurate.
Personally, however, I think here is partly lied with performance data quite violently!
If there should be providers who want to convince me of an offered diode laser, very gladly!
I am, of course, very happy to perform a test and review.

Ich glaube damit liegst du falsch, das N40630er Modul ist mit 5,5W optischer Leistung angekündigt.
Sonst sehr spannende Testserie! Ich bin schon auf das A40620er gespannt! Da würde ich drauf tippen, dass das in der Realität eta um die 6,5-7,5W bringt.

ein Fehlerteufel...aber egal weil beide da sind : )
